Ek baar phir....mumbai-syndrome!!!
Im missing Bambai too much today...I donno why....may b the weather...its pouring almost the entire day here...terribly terribly miss those rainy days in bbay, after all ive spent the most wonderful years of my life there...too much to miss man!! People usually get very emotional speaking about bbay...never seen anyone getting senti like that for any other city, even people who have spent only a few years there also call it 'amchi mumbai'...life in bombay is like a religion by itself, there are some unwritten rules and principles, which can not be expressed in words, but only people who share the same feeling can understand those...anyway me n my friend were ranting relentlessly about how cool bbay is, and how NJ is worse than dharavi and how life in dharavi-kurla slums must b much more happening than life in new brunswick...how we never had to 'plan' to eat out even if its 1am....and how the hotelwallas and roadside stallwalllas are considerate enuf to keep their services open throughout the nite unlike all shitty places here which close at the very begining of nocturnal life i.e. 9pm, so after say 11pm, u dont have a choice but to eat at same old taco bell or cook by urself...we never had to hunt for 'desi chinese' and 'vada-pav', its omnipotent on the streets of bbay...we never had to request ppl in crowded local trains to create the 5th seat on the 4 seater bench, we never had to explain anything to rikshawallas, taxi drivers and bus conductors except for murmuring the name of the destination...we used get 2 puris extra after eating 2 plates of panipuris at once...we could have a better coffee worth Rs. 2 right infront of Taj, where coffee costs you Rs. 80...panwallas have all google maps stored in their brains, so u dont need to worry even if u get lost...people will not give you a third glance (second? may b yes...) even if u wear microminis unless u r a celebrity...iliterate xerox machinwala will copy the exact chapters from the books as u wrote on that dirty yellow chit...if u pay reasonably well, ur work gets done for sure and that too quality work! Anyway...i can write volumes about it, but will stop here for now...dont miss the pics below!!
